July 23, 2008

Obviously I am not good at this whole blogging thing. It has already been several weeks since my last entry.

I am still enduring summer school. I have only five kids in my group, but boy do they need lots of my attention. We only focus on reading and math. We read a story each day and do activities based on the story. It is like oral surgery trying to get them to focus and pay attention while they are reading. Math is tough because they are on such different levels. I have one kid who finishes in half the time as the others and another who takes twice as long as everyone else. Thank goodness for multiplication.com that has games for the kids to practice their basic facts.

I had Stamp Club last night. We made a darling card that will be tough to give away. It was my night to be the hostests so I made artichoke dip, chocolate zuuchini cake, and a fruit tray. I had a lot left over so I brought it to share with the others teachers. I enjoyed the opportunity, like I always do, to sit and talk with people.

Tonight I have to go to a Presidency Meeting at 5:00 and then Young Women at 6:30. It should be pretty cute. Courtney Davis is going to teach basic dance instruction.

I am hooked on a book called Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. The series is very popular and a movie is even coming out in the fall. The problem is that I have three other books checked out from the library that I put holds on and got all at once. I was hoping they would come one at a time. I guess I need to spend some time laying out and reading. If if would stop raining!

June 30, 2008

I know that keeping a journal is very important. I've always wanted to keep a journal, but never got in a habit of doing so. Part of the problem (only an excuse) is that I am so particular about how things look. Creating a blog is perfect! It will be neat and concise. Plus I can share it with family and friends.

I spent last week at Girl's Camp. I am normally very excited to go and look forward to it all year. This time was different. I was very reluctant to go. I was trying to figure out why, and I decided that it was because I only had a week off in-between camp and school. I really just wanted to spend more time with friends and doing things around the house.

I taught aerobics this morning after missing a week for camp. It was pretty hard to get up early and have energy. I am sure that it will be good for me to get back into a routine. I did a lot of basic moves, but need to work on some combinations for next time. When I got home I waited for Ryan to shower so we could read scriptures and eat breakfast. Once he left, I sat down to check my email and watch television. Unfortunately, I dozed off and slept for a long time.. till almost 11:00!

I finally got up and headed to the grocery store. I came home and watched more TV while I ate dinner. I spent quite a while looking for a new shower head on eBay for our bathroom. Now, I am doing this blog.

I hope I can keep this up...
